Definition
- Indigenous knowledge refers to the knowledge unique to a given culture or society and characterized by the commonsense ideas, thoughts, and values of people formed as a result of the sustained interactions of society, nature, and culture. It is accumulated by a group of people who develop an in-depth understanding of their particular place in their world through centuries of unbroken residence.
