Definición
- Public theology turns religious visions of a nation and its people toward moral judgment of the ways they live together and govern themselves. Whether construed narrowly to refer to denominational statements on public policy or broadly to take in the social teaching of the Christian churches and their counterparts among world religions, the idea of public theology offers an instructive counterpoint to conceiving religion and politics in terms of a unitary civil religion or public philosophy.
