  • Psychopharmacology is an inclusive term referring to the study of the effects of endogenous or exogenous chemicals on the central nervous system and the resulting neuropsychiatric manifestations. Pharmacologic agents of interest include endogenous neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine and serotonin, therapeutic agents such as antipsychotic and antidepressant drugs, and drugs of abuse such as cocaine and opioids.
