Definición
- Throughout its history, the U.S. government has adopted legislation aimed at regulating immigration. Immigration acts adopted in 1917 and 1924 arose from the nativist and xenophobic sentiments of many American citizens who particularly disliked the influx of immigrants from Asia and southern and eastern Europe.
