President's Committee on Urban Housing

Definición

  • The President's Committee on Urban Housing, better known as the Kaiser Commission after its chair, industrialist Edgar Kaiser, was one of three urban policy advisory commissions established in 1967 and 1968 by President Lyndon Johnson in the aftermath of the widespread urban riots of the mid-1960s. The commission's charge was to find a way to harness the productive power of America—which has proved it can master space and create unmatched abundance in the market place—to the most pressing unfulfilled need of our society.
