Definición
- As a component of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Coordinated School Health (CSH) model, school health services refers to services designed to ensure access or referral to primary health care services or both, foster appropriate use of primary health care services; prevent and control communicable disease and other health problems; manage acute and chronic health conditions; provide emergency care for illness or injury; promote and provide optimum sanitary conditions for a safe school facility and school environment; identify health problems; and provide educational and counseling opportunities for promoting and maintaining individual, family, and community health. The purpose of school health services is to ensure that all students are healthy and ready to learn.
