Definición
- On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress adopted the New England militias then besieging the British Army in Boston as an intercolonial, or “Continental,” Army. To make the army more truly continental, Congress authorized raising 10 companies of riflemen from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia, and soon called upon the other colonies to raise troops.
