  • Scientific management, primarily associated with the work of Frederick Winslow Taylor in the early 20th century, is a theory of work organization and management that aims to improve workplace productivity by analyzing and designing the execution of individual work tasks. Scientific management is based in the assumptions that managers should control the workplace and that there is “one best way” to perform every task in a workplace.
