- John Marshall Harlan II (1899–1971) was a former associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court who served on the Court from 1955 until 1971. He was the grandson of John Marshall Harlan, “the Great Dissenter,” who served on the Court in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
