Belmont report
Definición
- The report of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioural Research, published in 1979. It lays down the basic ethical principles for medical research in the US: that there be respect for the autonomy of the person, beneficence, that is, to do no harm, and that the findings of research be used justly (bioethics; ethics, medical; Helsinki Declaration; Hippocrates; Nuremberg Code; Tuskegee syphilis experiment).
