  • In 1986, the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) was founded by twenty-three nationally recognized leaders in cancer care, research, support and advocacy to demand quality cancer care for all. Although other cancer research groups were founded before NCCS, this organization is the first one to focus on the need for fully informed cancer patients and that strives to empower cancer survivors.
