- Affective intelligence refers to a set of skills and abilities that allows individuals to recognize, manage, respond to, and communicate emotions effectively. There has been growing popular recognition of the pivotal role of affect in social life, matched by extensive interest in affectivity in the social sciences, including economics, sociology, political science, and education.
