participant advocates in research involving children
Definición
- To protect the rights and welfare of human participants involved in research, several federal regulations have been developed. Specifically, regulations indicate that a participant advocate must monitor the participation of an individual who may be vulnerable to coercion or undue influence to participate in research or who cannot make a “legally effective” decision regarding participation (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [DHHS], 2001, Section 46.116).
