social efficiency
Definición
- Social efficiency, the idea that education is a whole framework that involves the school, the community, and the learner, is most often associated with William Chandler Bagley, an American educator and professed essentialist whose progressive educational values were known in the early 1900s. Bagley suggested social efficiency be incorporated into public schools through teaching and lessons in character education. [Source: Encyclopedia of Educational Reform and Dissent; Social Efficiency]
