- Minimal structures are organizational designs based upon three elements: (1) coordination by action, based on, (2) a minimal set of rules, and on (3) a shared social objective. They can be thought of as a small set of big rules, or as a form of organizational structuring aiming to enable individuals to create organizational value through action adjusted to the requirements of the situation.
