Definición

  • Group homes (often called residential treatment centers, boarding homes, halfway houses, shelters, general child care institutions, or residential diagnostic centers) are facilities operated by a person, organization, society, or corporation, for profit or not for profit, to provide a nonsecure residential program that emphasizes family-style living in a homelike atmosphere. The group home provides 24-hour care to children not related to each other. [Source: Encyclopedia of Juvenile Justice; Group Homes]
