team policing

Definición

  • A police strategy introduced in the 1970s in reaction to the perceived isolation of the police from the community due in part to changes in patrol techniques (e.g., increased use of police cars). Teams of police officers familiar with the neighborhood, including its community members and problems, would patrol a geographic area under the direction of a sergeant or lieutenant.
