  • The National Coalition of American Nuns (NCAN) was founded in 1969 in the wake of the reforms of the Second Vatican Council and in tandem with the social justice issues percolating throughout the American landscape at the time. The organization's main mission is to study and speak out on issues that deal with peace, social justice, human rights, and women's equality within the Catholic Church and society at large.
