Definición
- The Romans placed great social emphasis on family, marriage, and procreation, and Roman families were often extended. Roman marriage and divorce laws varied during the course of the Roman Empire as well as among its vast regions and peoples, but marriages were generally civil arrangements between families with little or no state or religious interference.
