Definición
- The state of Nebraska passed legislation in 1919 that made it a misdemeanor to teach any subject in any language other than English to a student who had not passed the eighth grade. A teacher in a parochial school was tried and convicted, in 1920, of unlawfully teaching reading classes in German to eighth-grade students.
