Definición

  • “Globalization” has become common parlance in the media, among scholars and in everyday conversation. But what does this actually mean in people's everyday lives, in particular for the new wave of immigrants who have come to the United States in recent years, during which the country has seen an immense influx of immigrants? One way to understand this problem is to look at the issue of transnational life among migrants—those dimensions of social, political, and economic activity that are carried out by migrants in their countries of origin or destination, which link them in important ways with family members or others in either place, regardless of whether they actually migrate.
