paradigm incommensurability

Definición

  • Thomas Kuhn defined a paradigm as a constellation of shared convictions that facilitates the development of an intellectual movement into an institutionalized aspect of “normal” scientific inquiry. Paradigms are predicated on the interaction of three types of assumptions: ontological—concerning the nature of reality; epistemological—concerning the process of knowing; and methodological—concerning the research techniques and strategies available to researchers.
