Définition
- Within social scientific research a distinction is often made between theoretical research (‘pure’) and policy research (‘applied’). Broadly speaking, theoretical research aims to enhance an academic social science discipline's understanding of the world while the concerns of policy research are principally with knowledge for action and with the practical application of research.
