- Founded in 1989, the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL), located in Oñati, Spain, has become a point of reference for sociolegal scholars all over the world. It is a joint enterprise of the International Sociological Association's Research Committee on Sociology of Law (RCSL) and the Basque Government.
