cost-consequence analysis

Définition

  • A cost-consequence analysis (CCA) requires an estimation of the costs as well as the health consequences and other consequences associated with one intervention compared with an alternative intervention for a health condition; these estimates then are presented in a disaggregated tabular or graphical format. This type of analysis has been described in texts on economic evaluation of new healthcare interventions. [Source: Encyclopedia of Medical Decision Making; Cost-Consequence Analysis]
