- The Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU) was founded in 1974 by the National Advertising Review Committee (NARC) to promote responsible children's advertising. NARC is a strategic alliance of advertising industry organizations, including the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA), the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), and the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB).
