Définition
- Genetic counseling is a process of communication in which a specially trained professional, often but not always a doctor or nurse, meets with an individual, couple, or family to provide information about a genetic condition that has affected the individual, couple, or family or may do so in the future. The 1940s saw the establishment of genetic counseling clinics in both the United States and Great Britain. [Source: Encyclopedia of Disability; Genetic Counseling]
