National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
Définition
- In 1954, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) was formed with a charge to develop a consensus concerning what new teachers should know and be able to do. Five groups were instrumental in the creation of NCATE: (1) the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, (2) the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification, (3) the National Education Association, (4) the Council of Chief State School Officers, and (5) the National School Boards Association.
