  • Ethnic and racial minorities, including African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Native Americans and Alaskan Natives, Asian and Pacific Islanders, and Native Hawaiians, comprise approximately 25% of the United States population. It has been well documented in research studies that ethnic and racial minorities face barriers to the healthcare system due to a variety of factors, including socioeconomic, healthcare coverage, geographic, cultural differences, and decreased access and availability to healthcare providers.
