- Group therapy, or group psychotherapy, is a form of mental health treatment in which individuals afflicted with a problem coalesce to help each other. These groups can have a wide range of orientations, including psychodynamic, activity oriented, support focused, problem solving based, educational, or nonverbal expressive forms such as dance or music therapy.
