appraisals of body types
Définition
- While young people are often taught to “never judge a book by its cover,” our society, in actuality, conveys a different message. In Western culture, the slim body ideal is currently promoted as beautiful and good, while overweight body types are judged from bad to worse depending on how much one deviates from the ideal (Berscheid & Walster, 1974).
