Définition
- The year 1968 was packed densely, like 1848 and 1989, with tumultuous political confrontations, beginning with the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. As decades lengthened, those were often thought to be progressive, at least in terms of good intentions, although 1968 also saw Soviet tanks crush then Czechoslovakia's attempt to humanize the Soviet system, the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., the rise of Enoch Powell's racist dema-goguery in Britain, the vicious military coup-within-a-coup in Brazil, an anti-Semitic movement in Poland, and the slaughter of many hundreds of protesting México students in México City.
