Declaration of the Rights of Women

- The Declaration of the Rights of Women was written in France in 1791 by Olympe de Gouges. Modeled on the 1789 document, the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, the Declaration of the Rights of Women stated that women were equal to men in society and as such were entitled to the same citizenship rights.
