Terme préférentiel

nonprice competition in hospitals

Définition

  • The term “nonprice competition in hospitals” describes a situation in which a particular institution has decided it can price its services without regard to the prevailing competitive market in which it operates. This might occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from unawareness of prevailing price competition to cost-driven reasons for noncompetitive pricing or a belief that a differentiated (and thus “noncompetitive”) price is justified for a variety of reasons.
