National Endowment for the Humanities

- The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) was created in 1965 when Congress passed the National Foundations for the Arts and Humanities Act. The NEH was designed to be an independent agency that encouraged a greater emphasis on the knowledge of the humanities.
