  • Since its founding in 1916, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) has endeavored to promote the overall health and safety of workers, workplaces, and environments through preventive medicine, clinical care, research, and education. ACOEM defines occupational and environmental medicine as a special field of medicine that is concerned with preventing and managing work-related and environmental injuries, illnesses, and disability and with promoting the health and productivity of workers and their families and communities.
