Jacob S. Coxey

- Jacob S. Coxey, a wealthy stone quarry owner from Massillon, Ohio, led the first organized protest of the unemployed. The protest culminated in a march of about 500 unemployed workers, known as Coxey's Army, through the streets of Washington, D.C., in May 1894.
