Définition
- A boycott involves the refusal of one team/nation to compete with or alongside another in a sporting event, invariably with the intention of altering the political policies of the boycotted state. Boycotts have been identified as one of two primary ways in which political interests can use sport for their own ends (the other being the propaganda use a host nation can make while staging an event - e.g. [Source: The SAGE Dictionary of Sports Studies; Boycotts]
