- Healthcare informatics is a specialty area that integrates health science, computer science, information science, decision science, and management science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in healthcare practice and management. In addition, healthcare informatics facilitates the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, providers, and healthcare executives in their decision making in all roles and settings.
