  • The Ministries of Justice in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden established the Scandinavian Research Council for Criminology (Nordiska Samarbetsrådet för Kriminologi) in 1962. The Council's purpose is to promote criminological research within the member countries and to advise the Scandinavian governments on issues related to criminology and criminal policy decision making.To serve these objectives, the Council organizes annual research seminars and seminars to establish and reinforce contacts between researchers, on one hand, and practitioners and governmental decision makers, on the other.
