- Clinical training is an organized sequence of learning activities that provides therapeutic skills to trainees for the purpose of evaluation and treatment of individuals with health and/or mental health problems. Standards of clinical practice are developed by professional licensing boards and associations and represent disciplines, such as clinical or counseling psychology, social work, nursing, medicine, or psychiatry.
