- Conflicts between husbands and wives are generally considered a normal part of marital life, especially when the partners are intentionally trying to work through important issues regarding family and marital functioning. Interparental conflict may vary in how often disagreements occur, the ways in which anger is explicitly expressed, and how severe disagreements are resolved.
