- Born on April 10, 1927 in New York City to Harry and Minerva (née Bykowsky) Nirenberg, Marshall Warren Nirenberg proved a core relationship among deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), ribonucleic acid (RNA), amino acids, and cell protein.
