Définition
- Dropsy testimony refers to testimony by police officers that an individual—upon seeing or being questioned by a police officer—dropped illegal drugs on the ground. Defense attorneys use the term pejoratively to imply that police officers conveniently claim that an individual dropped the contraband to avoid a finding that the officers may have violated the Fourth Amendment prohibition against unreasonable searches and seizures.
