embodied cognition

Définition

  • Embodied cognition—also known as “grounded,” “enactive,” and “situated” cognition—is a theory of cognition that emphasizes the primary role of the body in human thought processes. In contrast to earlier models, the embodied approach views the entire range of human cognitive faculties as fundamentally grounded in and shaped by human embodiment; put differently, it posits that human thought and meaning arise from bodily interaction with the environment.
