- Definition Fast and frugal heuristics, as defined by Gerd Gigerenzer, Peter M. Todd, and the ABC Research Group, are simple, task-specific decision strategies that are part of a decision maker's repertoire of cognitive strategies for solving judgment and decision tasks.
