- Reincarnation (also called transmigration or metempsychosis) is the religious or philosophical view that humans, and possibly also animals and plants, have multiple existences. This view is most prevalent in Asian religions of Indian origin, such as Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism.
