duverger's law
Définition
- Formulated in 1956 by French political scientist Maurice Duverger, Duverger's Law states that the simple-majority single-ballot system favors the two-party system. From this law Duverger derived a hypothesis that the simple-majority double-ballot system and proportional representation favor multipartyism.
