  • Escobedo v. Illinois (1964) was decided by the U.S. Supreme Court during the era of Chief Justice Earl Warren. It is part of what has come to be known as the “due process revolution,” one of a series of cases that granted many protections of the Bill of Rights to state defendants, to whom these rights had historically been denied.
