biological phenomenon
Definition
- A biological phenomenon is a phenomenon (or process) that reflects any function or activity in any living system (human, animal, plant, fungus, bacterium) at the molecular, cellular, or organ level. Biological phenomena are extremely diverse, with life taking a very large number of forms. Their studies contribute to our knowledge of life, a vast subject that involves many disciplines and sub-disciplines that interact with each other: anatomy, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, botany, organic chemistry, cytology, histology, microbiology, animal and plant physiology and zoology.
